Meet Coach Lerron TURNER

Lerron Turner graduated from Ruskin High School, Hickman Mills C-1 School District. After high school he attended the University of Tennessee where he played defensive back for the Tennessee Volunteers Football Team. It was there at the University of Tennessee that he developed a deep passion for working with and mentoring urban youth. Turner received his Bachelor’s of Science in Social Psychology from Park University after leaving Knoxville.
Shortly after college Turner became a varsity football coach and has coached for several area high schools, Hickman Mills C-1 School District, Center School District, Independence and Kansas City Public School District. Lerron has been a part of more than 100 wins as an assistant coach and coordinator. He has won five district championships and two conference titles while helping many athletes reach their goal of attending college. Lerron also has experience in coaching middle and high school girls basketball and boys varsity baseball.
In addition to coaching Lerron worked as a Paraprofessional in Special Education for the better half of the last 16 years. Lerron has also worked with youth programs such as Hot Summer Nights, Young Men's Work, H.Y.P.E. (Helping Youth Prepare for Excellence) and D.A.R.E. Program as a mentor for Kids Care Consultants. Lerron has been involved with many different businesses, assisting with marketing projects throughout the country with several companies benefiting from his business acumen such as: Sony, Warner Brothers, Universal Records, Pilot Corporation, Allstate, Nike, Adidas, and the University of Tennessee.
Lerron not only has experience in sports, mentoring, coaching, special education, marketing, programming and social psychology but transportation as well. Lerron worked for Crabtree Transportation, a school bus transportation company as a Contract Manager for two years before returning to the classroom in the Center School District. Lerron has developed great business acumen and experience over the years. He is a motivator, great manager and very knowledgeable and resourceful. This makes him invaluable to the team.
